ARROW FROM THE SHADOW

11. ARROW FROM THE SHADOW

In one Janma you learn
And in the other you teach
Yogavasishta is the lecture
On dharma and mind management;

Rama was awarded eighteen days
In Thretha Yuga by Sage Vasishta
Krishna in Dwapara gave lessons
To Arjuna in the war field
Rama had a single wife in Sita
Who stood with him for all time
Krishna had many wives
His particular favourite, Radha
Who found herself abandoned too
Lakshmana the younger one
Also stood steadfast with Rama
Supporting him in dangerous times
Balarama, the elder one
Was always tormenting Krishna
Rama sent an arrow in the shadow
Which backfired to kill Krishna;

Each day you take birth
And in the next a rebirth
The karma you do in one Janma
An arrow from the shadow
Comes back in full force
To haunt you in the next Janma.

hello bapu .... I thought of sending you a request many times , but i thought u wouldnt know me . and your poems .. have no words they speak so much, depths of soul, destinies , depths of thought, everything enclosed in words . I missed the wonderful opportunity of meeting you , when you came to my college .. akka has so much to speak about you evry time . just waiting to meet you bapu .

Neha, one of my favorite poems written by Bapu! after last day's blast wen the question of life & existance came before my mind, this poem came to my mind! :)
THE UNDIVIDED EARTH

If the whole human race disappears
From the worldly earth
Without the slightest trace

In a moment machines will run and burn
The trucks will hit and stop
Flying crafts will dash down

 -------------------------24th OCTOBER 2012-----------------

Thank you sir.
I was reading couple of the poems with my sister. Loved them, they are sooo good, very well expressing the inner feelings of the heart.

One big (smile) for the title  'from the deeper reserves', we liked it a lot.
Few lines are wonderfully put, like

All of them busy prescribing
How the other should live
But none seemed interested
In writing a simple script
For ones own splendid life.

I would be reading and re-reading these poems... Ah poems are wonderful expressions of heart.
I have to discuss with you about so many things now when i meet you! Hope i wont forget them, as i usually do! Will try to note somewhr.

this one is for poems and ur poems in specific as i am writing this floating in emotions the came forth reading urs.

Whenever i was bored, i know not
what to do, and i know not
for what i am there, and the confusion
goes one about myself and life
you might not have extended
ur caressing hand, but i can feel
i can feel that u did send these,
these poems as an expression
of your ownself, for me to feel ur love,
to take refuge for now in this expression,
waiting for the bigger moment,
the moment to meet you father,

Half-Lived LIFE

LIFE is HALF LIVED

Life is half lived to learn
that I lived is not the life

Many a days I felt alone
the fear I had in troubles
now I learned to like myself
I am brave for the day.

feared failure I left those
bright options at hand
I am happy with self
that is too short then

I left no critic with options
perfection is life I learned
rejection of habits to be clean
that is the way to live long

now I learn live long is no fun
live along is the way of joy
have faith in self to burn
not to smoke burning in

’no pain no gain’  said the saying
‘truth will prevail’ caught me hard

I see the ugliness in truth
lost the beauty in fear
left in pain to gain more
see the end yet to begin

call it destiny that made
a fear to change or challenge
ignorance of my trueness
gave me grave pain within

love is untrue said my brain
learned it late through heart
making my darkness fade
sunny day blossomed late

learned serious for perfection
fearing failure of ridicule
lost my face the laughing charm
grown old at young itself
future gazed at me to smile
gained wisdom this day
that made be to smile in self
I hurt me not any long
I see no dark only the star
glaze in the sky just for me

sunlight as truth was after a dark
change is beautiful for me too
Butterfly had the larva stage
Metamorphosis makes it to fly
fly live too short said the brain
struggled heart sees no beauty

‘change is one with no change’
saying goes to say cheer no long
this bright day will close to set
I will soon be in the old doom

Life is half lived to learn
that I don’t know how to live

If I Could; I Teach You

If I Could; I Teach You

If I could; I love to teach you

Teach to learn not to answer
I teach you to accomplish
than you think you can.

I shall plant seeds in you
I planted in me years ago
I love to reveal to you

Beauty of dreaming BIG.

Not just teaching

expanded care I give
Creating hearts that care

Share and Teach that learned

Serving others and love

Your student – taught my GURU
he is my role model

Thus if I could: I teach you.

If I could teach you,
I shall show you life

Learn to Live

Learn to be Simple.

You have right on my time

Right on me to learn

Take my care and share
to show your true value.

LIFE of LOVE - Poems by DrTPS

Preface

I am not a poet. These poems constitute my profound thoughts on life during a year of solitude in Delhi. Few good friends, special are they, recognized these thoughts and encouraged me to instill life into them. So here they are in verse form.

One or two of these poems are published in Malayalam (translated from/to Malayalam). Acceptance of those Malayalam poems was the first encouragement for my continued writing.

The backing of my family and other well wishers is an integral part of this realization. My journey into the spiritual and literary path was motivated by my wife Dr P V Radhadevi. My sons S. Harikrishnan and S. Yadukrishnan are passionate readers of my work.

The realization and shaping of the poems were with the poetical support of Mrs. Sheeba Thattil. Specially valuable were the effort of Dr. Radhika Nagrath. My thanks is due to Prof. K G Sankara Pillai and Prof. Akavoor Narayanan for their comments and encouragement. As usual, Mr. Sudhakaran of Indological Trust is with me.

As you peruse through these poems may you gain new perspectives on Life……
